Zusammenfassung

Selten ist die Europäische Union mit so großen Herausforderungen konfrontiert gewesen. Hatte bereits die Covid19-Pandemie die Solidarität der Mitgliedsstaaten auf eine harte Probe gestellt, so steht seit dem russischen Angriff auf die Ukraine die gemeinsame Verteidigung auf der Agenda, verschärft durch den zunehmend isolationistischen Kurs der Vereinigten Staaten. In den Mitgliedsstaaten erhalten populistische, EU-skeptische Kräfte immer mehr Zuspruch. Gleichzeitig möchte die EU ein globaler Akteur werden, was die Bekämpfung des Klimawandels, die Regulierung künstlicher Intelligenz und die Bewahrung des Freihandels anbelangt. Dieser Band untersucht, wie die EU mehr und mehr Handlungsfähigkeit und Resilienz gewinnt, um solchen Herausforderungen zu begegnen.
