Zusammenfassung

Dieses Werk zeigt anhand des Beispiels der Europäischen Volkspartei (EVP) in der Ukraine, der Republik Moldau und in Georgien den Einfluss von Europaparteien auf den Wandel politischer Parteien in der östlichen Europäischen Nachbarschaft auf. Um ein möglichst umfangreiches Bild zu gewinnen, wurden verschiedene Mechanismen der Normenverbreitung untersucht, unter anderem Konditionalität und Persuasion. Die Analyse zeigt den Einfluss der EVP auf ihre Partnerparteien in verschiedenen Bereichen der Parteienentwicklung auf. Gleichwohl haben verschiedene Charakteristika der Partnerparteien diesen Einfluss spürbar begrenzt. Bisweilen führte der Einfluss nur zu rhetorischen oder formellen Änderungen ohne echten Wandel. Schlussendlich schlägt der Autor eine Typologie vor, welche Arten von Partnerparteien besonders reformaffin sind.
