Zusammenfassung

Der vorliegende Band kombiniert die Beiträge des 2ten und 3ten Melammu Workshops. – Der 2te Workshop nimmt die Entwicklung der Literatur und literarische Texte in den Fokus: Warum gibt es Veränderungen in der Keilschrift-Literatur und wie kann man diese Veränderungen in der Tradition der Genres erklären? – Das Melammu-Projekt widmet sich der Kontinuität, der Transformation und der Expansion der meopotamischen Kultur mittels komparativer Analysen des textlichen und des ikonographischen Materials und der Identifikation von Parallelen zur und Einflussnahmen auf die Welt der klassischen Antike. Um zu erörtern, wie diese Parallelen und Bezüge zustande kamen, widmet sich der 3te Melammu-Workshop den Individuen, die dies Wissen übermittelten. Land- und Seerouten, die Ost und West verbanden, waren Verbindungslinien für Menschen und Güter und beförderten die Verbreitung von Ideen und Technologien in beide Richtungen. Ein Studium der Itinerarien und der Bedingungen des Reisens ist entscheidend für das Verständnis der Wege des kulturellen Austausches.

The present volume combines the contributions of the 2nd and 3rd Melammu Workshops. – The 2nd Workshop focusses on the development of literature and literary texts: Why are there and how can we explain literary changes in the tradition of the sub-corpus we are working on? – The Melammu Project is dedicated to study the continuity, transformation and expansion of Mesopotamian culture by means of comparative analyses of the documentary and iconographic materials and the identification of parallels and mutual influences, in particular with the Classical world. In order to study how these parallels came into being, the 3rd Melammu Workshop focusses on the individuals who transmitted this knowledge. Land and sea-routes linking the East with the West were conduits for people and goods and fostered the spread of ideas and technologies in both directions. A study of the itineraries and the conditions of travel is crucial to an understanding of the ways of cultural exchange.
