Zusammenfassung

Das Buch geht der Frage nach, auf welche Legitimationsquellen sich Regionalorganisationen des globalen Südens berufen, wenn sie Ordnungsfunktionen in ihrer Region übernehmen. Dazu werden unter Rückgriff auf verschiedene Theoriestränge sowie politikwissenschaftliche, soziologische und kulturwissenschaftliche Regionalstudien die Afrikanische Union, die ASEAN und die Liga Arabischer Staaten einer Analyse unterzogen. Im Ergebnis wird erstens die Vielfalt von Legitimationsquellen jenseits der OECD-Welt aufgezeigt, zweitens deren Wirkung hinsichtlich der Akzeptanz dieser Organisationen herausgearbeitet und drittens Hinweise auf Reformoptionen dieser regionalen Organisationen aber auch der globalen Ordnung insgesamt gewonnen.
