Zusammenfassung

Die „Arabellionen“ im Nahen Osten und in Nordafrika (MENA) haben nicht nur auf die Gesellschaften und politischen Strukturen in den jeweiligen Ländern tiefgreifende Auswirkungen, sondern auch auf verschiedene akademische Disziplinen. Die Ereignisse, die im Jahr 2010 in Tunesien begannen, haben Terminologien verändert, Schwerpunkte verschoben und manchmal dominante theoretische Ansätze in Frage gestellt. Das Buch bietet einen aufschlussreichen Einblick in die Transformation der akademischen Welt nach den Aufständen. Es analysiert, wie sich der akademische Diskurs in und über die MENA-Region verändert hat und reflektiert, wie die noch andauernden Transformationsprozesse Ansätze in verschiedenen Disziplinen beeinflussen – insbesondere in Politikwissenschaft, Arabistik, Philosophie, Kommunikationswissenschaft, Soziologie, Informatik und Archäologie. Die Autoren sind Mitglieder der Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA).
