Zusammenfassung
Wie verändern sich islamistische Bewegungen? Um diese zentrale Frage zu beantworten, analysiert die Autorin zwei islamistische Bewegungen aus vergleichender Perspektive: Die Islamic Action Front in Jordanien (1989-2010) sowie die An-Nahdha in Tunesien (1981-2011). Sie führte zahlreiche Interviews mit islamistischen Vertretern aus beiden Ländern und analysierte ihre zentralen Dokumente. Welche Bereiche ihrer islamischen Frames (Rolle von Religion, Gewalt, Demokratie, Gender, Shari'a) wandelten sich mit den Opportunitätsstrukturen und welche Bereiche blieben konstant? Eines der zentralen Ergebnisse der Studie zeigt den hochkomplexen Zusammenhang zwischen staatlicher Repression und dem Gewaltverhalten islamistischer Bewegungen. Sie reagierten auf staatliche Repression nur dann gewalttätig, wenn bestimmte Bedingungen gegeben waren. Auch der Zusammenhang zwischen staatlicher Liberalisierung und der Demokratisierung dieser Bewegungen erwies sich für beide Fallstudien als hochkomplex.
