Zusammenfassung

Samantha Pires Vianna zeichnet an der Schnittstelle von Theaterwissenschaft, kritischer Pädagogik und Abolition Studies die Geschichte des Theaters in brasilianischen Haftanstalten nach. Diese Historisierung eröffnet Forschungsansätze für eine genaue Lektüre von
Banho de Sol (Zula Cia. de Teatro, 2019), einem partizipativen Theaterstück, das die Begegnung von vier Theaterpädagog:innen mit inhaftierten Frauen dokumentiert. Mit dem Fokus auf strukturellem Rassismus, Geschlechterunterdrückung und kolonialem Erbe untersucht die Autorin Strategien des Körpers, der Erinnerung und der Unruhe und zeigt auf, wie Theater Haftstrukturen aufdecken, Solidaritätsbindungen aktivieren und abolitionistische Horizonte eröffnen kann.
