[How Does Systematic Theology Work? An Introduction to the Subject] What would academic theology be without systematic theology? – There would be no specialist subject to relate Christianity to the here and now. In the cycle of theological education the subject systematic theology has special functions, which it fulfils through the interactions between its disciplines of dogmatics, ethics and philosophy of religion. But how? Matthias Hofmann takes a look at systematic theology from a functional point of view. The focus of this introduction is on the methodology of the subject and its disciplines. With numerous charts and additional references it provides basics and suggestions for one's own systematic theological work while studying and beyond.
