Zusammenfassung

Das Ziel dieses Buches ist es, dem englischsprachigen Publikum, das sich für Philosophie und Philosophiegeschichte (insbesondere für den deutschen Idealismus) interessiert, eine Zusammenfassung von Hegels Ansicht über den Protestantismus in einem Buch zur Verfügung zu stellen, die auch seine philosophische Entwicklung im Kontext des umfassenderen Problems der Religion erklärt, das die Entwicklung seines frühen Systems bestimmte. Das Buch rekonstruiert nicht nur Hegels Sicht auf den Protestantismus, sondern auch seine philosophische Entwicklung. Das Buch vereint historische und philosophische Perspektiven, Hegels theoretische Anfänge im Kontext der Religion erfordern einen Überblick über den historischen Kontext seiner Ideen und Forschungen. Darüber hinaus finden auch die relevanten methodischen Probleme im Text ausreichend Beachtung. Das Buch bewegt sich an der Grenze zwischen dem historischen Interesse an Hegels Philosophie und dem systematischen Interesse, das der deutschen Forschung eigentümlich ist.
