Zusammenfassung

Dieses Buch bietet eine prägnante Darstellung des 159 Seiten langen und äußerst komplexen Iran-Atomabkommens (formell "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action" oder JCPOA), einschließlich der rechtlichen Analyse seines Hauptinhalts, der Bedeutung von Präsident Trumps Ausstieg aus dem Abkommen und der Verknüpfung des Abkommens mit einer Resolution des US-Sicherheitsrats, die die Weiterführung des Abkommens sichert. Trotz dieser Zusicherung wird das Atomabkommen im Oktober 2025 auslaufen, sofern keine Nachfolgeregelung gefunden wird. Der Autor forscht seit mehr als 40 Jahren auf dem Gebiet des internationalen Rechts der Nichtverbreitung von Kernwaffen. Derzeit ist er Mitglied der UN-Völkerrechtskommission (ILC) und assoziiertes Mitglied des Institut de droit international (IDI).
