Südostasien-Jahrbuch: Wirtschaft – Politik – Gesellschaft | Southeast Asia Yearbook: Economy – Politics – Society

Edited by: Dr. David M. Malitz und Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alfred Gerstl

Southeast Asia's geopolitical significance is growing rapidly. With a population of more than 680 million people, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) already ranks as the world’s fifth-largest economic region. Published by Nomos from 2026 onward, the Southeast Asia Yearbook is the first yearbook in the German-speaking world to systematically contextualize and analyse current trends and developments in Southeast Asia in both German and English through country reports, analyses of the region's relations with German-speaking countries and the EU, and thematic essays. Contributions are provided by experts from academia as well as from political, economic, and civil society sectors in both the German-speaking world and the Southeast Asia region itself.
