Summary
The 2022 PISA study marks a new low in the ongoing problem of developing pupils' reading skills. Belinda Akel addresses the desideratum of the lack of implementation of reading promotion programs at secondary level. Based on a multifactorial concept of reading competence, the self-developed support program LeseSystem is presented. The requirements for comprehensive reading promotion are tested by adapting evidence-based measures from reading research in a multimedia and multilingual support setting. The methodical implementation is based on the specially designed and free LeseSystem reading app.
