Attention – a key concept of contemporary humanities research – is, as a fundamental phenomenon of human intentionality, associated with individual and social processes involved with selection and focus. What is it that attracts and guides our attention, especially under the conditions of the digital media society, and how is our awareness thereby shaped or even controlled? This volume collects new research contributions from philosophy, psychology and education studies that closely examine these questions from interdisciplinary points of view.
