As a metaphor for logical and constructive activity, architecture has always played a central role in philosophy. Ever since the crisis of modern architecture, there have been more and more approaches that critically broaden the architectural theory question about the cultural function of architecture under philosophical aspects. However, there is still no integral form of architecture-philosophical reflection that does justice to the role of architecture - as that central, cultural practice through which humans create an environment that is tailored exclusively to their needs, separated from nature. The contributions to the volume address this theoretical and philosophical reflection on architecture.
