Summary

Die Endlichkeit fossiler Rohstoffe sowie die Notwendigkeit des Klimaschutzes verlangen nach einer weltweiten Reform der Energie- und Ressourcenpolitik, welche die Nutzung erneuerbarer, natürlicher Ressourcen fördert. Vor dem Hintergrund der Notwendigkeit einer Steigerung der Energieeffizienz, einer Senkung der Energie und der Resourcennutzung, und einer Wirtschaft, die weniger fossile Rohstoffe nutzt und anstatt dessen mehr auf erneuerbare, umweltschonende und natürlicher Ressourcen setzt, vereint diese Publikation zahlreiche Beiträge, die sich mit den wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen von Bioenergie und dem relevanten nationalen und internationalen Recht sowie der Politik beschäftigen. Der geographische Fokus ist hierbei auf das südliche Afrika gerichtet. Verschiedenste Beiträge mit interdisziplinärem Ansatz sowie die Darstellung von ’best-practice’ Beispielen sollen den Dialog über Biokraftstoffe im südlichen Afrika – und darüber hinaus – anregen.
