Summary

The arts and sciences have come closer to one another – especially in their use of media technologies and the application of aesthetic practices. However, scientific knowledge is not just confronted with aesthetic questions in its mediation. Questions of aesthetics are already part of their research. For their part, in younger disciplines such as bio-art or eco-art, the arts have moved closer to science. The contributors to this volume examine the epistemological and aesthetic conditions, possibilities and problems that arise when art and science work together and develop new perceptions of nature.
