Our modern society depends on space. We regularly use the services of space infrastructure, usually without realising it. Space technologies, such as weather forecasting or positioning services, have become part of our everyday lives and bring great benefits to our society. On a governmental level, satellites are regularly used to transmit confidential and encrypted data. But there are risks associated with our dependence on space. How resilient is this vital infrastructure? How can we prepare for disruptions? Based on interviews with experts, the author explores these and other questions and shows what steps are needed to strengthen the resilience of Germany's space infrastructure.
