Summary

The history of the Christian Churches is also the history of the communication and transformation of Christian knowledge and traditions. History and education deserve intensive theological appreciation as metareflective basic concepts when it comes to locating Church History as a cultural and theological educational discipline. The commemorative publication displayed here, which would like to honor the Theologian and Church Historian Markus Wriedt as an outstanding expert on this theological, historiographical and educational constellation, brings together interdisciplinary contributions to the educational reflex of Christian Theology in an interdisciplinary and interreligious setting. In a multiperspective approach, the Christian concept of education acquires a relational and reflective depth that allows a far-reaching and broad understanding of the subject of the volume and thus further thinks about the basic concerns in the honoree’s scientific work.
