The Magazine of Cultural Studies serves as a critical medium for debates about "culture", cultural studies and their methodical processes. Based on the international status of research, cultural phenomena are to be studied empirically concisely as well as theoretically advanced. The latest interactions between human and natural sciences are reflected as well. This issue explores "mapping" as an expression of specific orders of space, society and knowledge in various historical contexts and from the perspective of different specialties. According to Immanuel Kant, to find orientation in thinking always means to find orientation in space as well. Maps are means of orientation with which we perceive, arrange and therefore also organize and create the world. The term "mapping" brings the production and use of maps as well as other media and technologies of orientation and space production into focus. The debate section has been dedicated to the significance of books in the humanities and cultural studies.
