Social upheavals lead to conflicts. Existing structures and hierarchies - including those of religion – are broken as new structures emerge. Does this formation of new networks constitute a good conflict resolution strategy?The focus of the volume are religious networks and their response to situations of social upheaval. The contributions depict how time and again new networks of relationships mature, arising from the coexistence and cooperation of polytheistic and monotheistic religions as well as different Christian faiths from late antiquity to the present.
