From their genesis in 2014, the "walks" by PEGIDA in Dresden have provoked a storm of political and media discourse around the meaning of this movement and how to deal with it. Since then, many efforts have been made in the field of social science to understand and describe this unexpected and dynamic social phenomenon. After the roughly 18-month presence of PEGIDA and a plethora of individual publications, this collected volume provides the first comprehensive and pointed overview of the variety of current investigations and interpretations.
