The moving body, mobile capital, innovative ideas, a mutable future: movement is omnipresent. In modern society, movement not only forms an antipole to stagnation or immobility, but also develops its very own dynamic to shape society socially, culturally and materially. The contributions in this volume observe "movement" from various sociological perspectives and on the basis of various case studies from automobility to the physical movement of children and social innovations.
