Summary

Previous research on war newspapers has concentrated on overarching topics. There was no publication that dealt with a single German war newspaper. By evaluating a large number of articles and analyzing them in various categories, this book not only contributes to this research desideratum, but also paints an intimate portrait of a supposed propaganda newspaper. To this end, the people involved are introduced and the historical framework is clarified. Finally, it will be shown that the Liller Kriegszeitung existed not only for propaganda purposes, but also to depict the lives of ordinary soldiers.
