"It's going to be unbearable!" Medical evaluations based on predictive genetic tests are a modern kind of curse - with relentlessly sure-fire consequences. Based on the case of Alice Rivières, who tested positively for the Huntington Disease, Katrin Solhdju shows the snares that may occur when dealing with an existential threatening form of future knowledge: How can this kind of violence be dealt with reasonably? Where can conceptual, epistemological and imaginative elements for effective counteracting be discovered? And what are the "ecological" conditions required to handle this modern version of prescience with creativity and without violence?
