What does it mean to understand rhetoric as design theory? Pierre Smolarski maps out a comprehensive design theory in the form of a rhetoric of design and shows how this can be applied both to analyses of the design process as well as the description of design production and their persuasive content. Rhetorical strategies of finding, ordering, and forming within the design process can also be evaluated in this way. The book presents comprehensively basic concepts of orientation by means of design products and searches for connections to theories of subversion, affirmation, and neutrality.
