Summary
The Corona pandemic changed society abruptly and its consequences will linger for a long time. At the beginning, the expertise of virology dominated the public debate. However, given the magnitude of the impact of Corona, it is clear that perspectives on the pandemic from the social and cultural sciences are also indispensable, because: The Corona crisis is a social crisis. Beyond contagion and mortality rates, it has profound implications for social cohesion and people's everyday lives. The contributions assess the situation in the midst of the "Corona society" and show perspectives for the time after the crisis. In doing so, they offer orientation to the public and enable the sciences to engage in an initial exchange. For the collective overcoming of the pandemic requires not only a critical analysis of the situation, but also the cultivation of a future vision with a sense of possibility.
