Summary

For a long time, climate research was considered a purely natural science endeavour, but since the 2010s it has increasingly been conducted in the social sciences as well. The popularisation in and outside of science has not only led to new problem references, but has also produced a increasing lack of clarity: A need has emerged to explore disciplinary entry points, interdisciplinary connection possibilities and transdisciplinary exchange opportunities. The contributors to this volume review central key works in social science climate research and thus provide initial access to and orientation in this field of research.
