Summary

[Rhetorica] Since public speech has been attributed solely to so-called media competence in the course of its concentration on media transmission and reproduction, a high formatting pressure can be observed. It makes the words of the speech appear ready for print and their physical expression trained, and has developed various stereotypes. One does not really want to believe such speakers. Because behind the formalization, the person disappears as a witness to their words. They are no longer recognizable. The connection to the person speaking is interrupted. In order to escape this dilemma, one would have to reconstruct the person speaking – in other words, bring their body into play rhetorically. The hands literally play a prominent role in this.
