Zusammenfassung

Die nordeuropäischen Länder sind stabile Demokratien, das skandinavische Wohlfahrtsmodell ist viel bewundert und sie gelten als klassische Konsensdemokratien. Worin gründen diese Urteile? Wie funktionieren die politischen Systeme der drei Monarchien Dänemark, Schweden und Norwegen, der zwei Republiken Finnland und Island, der autonomen Gebiete Grönland, der Färöer, der Åland-Inseln und der Sápmi? Der kritische Blick wird gerichtet auf u.a. Parlamentarismus, Wahlen, Parteien, Regierungen, Verwaltungen, Rechtswesen, die kulturellen und geschichtlichen Verwurzelungen.
