Zusammenfassung

Ob Weltraumtourismus, Satellitennutzung oder extraterrestrischer Ressourcenabbau: Menschliche Aktivitäten im Weltraum nehmen auf der Grundlage des technischen Fortschritts und wachsender Kommerzialisierung stetig zu; ganz zu schweigen von militärischen Interessen.

Der neue Band „Space Law“ von Stephan Hobe ragt durch eine vertiefte und gleichzeitig prägnante Nachzeichnung aller maßgeblichen rechtlichen Aspekte der Weltraumnutzung heraus. Nach einem kurzen Überblick über die astrophysikalischen Grundlagen der Weltraumerforschung und die Geschichte der Raumfahrt, werden die Rechtskonzepte anhand der wichtigsten Weltraumanwendungen eingehend geprüft. Neben dem internationalen Weltraumrecht werden nationale Weltraumgesetze beschrieben und untersucht. Das Buch gibt in 13 Kapiteln einen vertieften Überblick über die Vergangenheit, die Gegenwart und die Zukunft des Weltraumrechts und so wichtige Themen wie Weltraumtransport, Verkehrsregeln für den Weltraum, Umweltschutz im Weltraum, Expansion der Menschheit auf anderen Weltraumkörper sowie NewSpace und extraterrestrische Intelligenz. Die Wiedergabe der fünf UN-Weltraumverträge rundet die Darstellung ab.

Zahlreiche Grafiken und Illustrationen, Inhaltsübersichten sowie kurze Zusammenfassungen für jedes Kapitel erleichtern eine schnelle Orientierung und machen das Buch sowohl für Studierende und Doktoranden als auch für Praktiker zu einem idealen Begleiter.
