Zusammenfassung

Den Kerngebieten des nationalen bürgerlichen und Handelsrechts liegen heute europäische Regelungen zugrunde. Das Europäische Vertragsrecht hat wachsenden Einfluss auf das Zivilrecht in den Mitgliedstaaten der Europäischen Union. Obschon seine Relevanz für die Kerngebiete des Vertragsrechts nicht hoch genug eingeschätzt werden kann, insbesondere in Fragen des Verbraucherschutzes, ist es nach wie vor für viele ein unbekanntes Rechtsgebiet. Das Buch bietet erstmals eine Gesamtdarstellung des Europäischen Vertragsrechts unter Einschluss der neuesten Entwicklungen und behält dabei stets die Bedürfnisse der Praxis im Blick. Anhand der Inhalte, Methoden und Ziele gibt das Werk Einblick in die Verhandlungen zwischen Legislative, Judikative und Rechtswissenschaft, aus denen heraus das Europäische Vertragsrecht entstanden ist. Das Buch berücksichtigt insofern nicht nur umfassend die Gesetzgebung auf europäischer Ebene, sondern auch die Materialien zu den Vorarbeiten, an denen die Autoren aktiv beteiligt waren. Reiner Schulze ist Professor für deutsches und europäisches Zivilrecht an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Fryderyk Zoll lehrt polnisches und europäisches Privatrecht an der Universität Osnabrück.
