Zusammenfassung

In der ausgedehnten Literatur zur „ungeschriebenen Lehre“ Platons gibt es noch keine Abhandlung zur Frage: Warum hat Platon die „ungeschriebene Lehre“ nicht geschrieben? Die vorliegende Studie legt diese vor und kann auch als Einführung in Platons ungeschriebene Philosophie gelesen werden. Sie vertritt anhand von Analysen der entscheidenden Stellen aus den platonischen Dialogen und dem „Siebten Brief“ die These, dass Platon die „ungeschriebene Lehre“ nicht nur infolge der ungenügenden Rezeptionsbedingungen unvorbereiteter Leser nicht schriftlich publiziert hat, sondern auch, weil er kein definitives Wissen von den Prinzipien beanspruchte und auch deshalb die Prinzipien seiner Philosophie nicht schriftlich ein für alle Mal fixieren konnte.
