Zusammenfassung

Das Buch untersucht die Versöhnung in Ostmitteleuropa, im Laufe des EU-Integrationsprozesses, mit historischen Bezügen und Analysen der aktuellen politischen und diplomatischen Prozessen der Region. Es ist ein nützliches Werkzeug für Wissenschaftler und Studenten, die eine Up-to-date-Sammlung von Beiträgen erkunden möchten, die von Wissenschaftlern aus der Region und Mitgliedern der Historiker-Verbindungsgruppe bei der Europäischen Kommission verfasst worden sind. Der multidisziplinäre Ansatz der Studien fokussiert auf das deutsch-französische Modell der Versöhnung sowie auf die Lage der Grenzen, Identitäten und Gemeinschaften in ostmitteleuropäischem Gebiet, inmitten des aktuellen (geo-)politischen, wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Kontexts. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf solche für die Region kennzeichnenden Aspekte gerichtet wie Populismus, der Unterricht der gemeinsamen Geschichte sowie die Integrationsbemühungen. Die Beiträge wurden im Rahmen der internationalen Konferenz „Desintegration und Integration in Ostmitteleuropa“, 3. Edition (Berlin, 2016) vorgestellt. Der Forschungsbereich ist die europäische Integration.
