Denkart Europa | Mindset Europe presents international academic analyses and contributions on a broad range of Europe-related subjects. During the course of European integration, which is based on cooperation between autonomous states, regions have gradually become more important and have intensified their collaborative work with regions beyond the EU’s borders. However, European integration and regionalism, which includes cross-border cooperation between regions, are governed by different dynamics that are related to centralisation and decentralisation, which generates a certain amount of tension. This means that pursuing both paths (at the same time) throws up a whole host of questions, some of which are extremely complex. This collection of publications is the result of collaborative academic work between the Universities of Innsbruck, Bolzano and Trento as well as the EURAC Research Centre in Bolzano under the direction of the Research Centre on Federalism at the University of Innsbruck. It aims to publish the latest research studies on the role of regions in Europe.

The series of publications entitled ‘Theologie, Bildung, Ethik und Recht’ (‘Theology, Education, Ethics and Law’) contains academic contributions on subjects that are not only particularly relevant in terms of Islamic and theological thinking today but also in terms of classifying discourse that is related to Islam. The series’ broad thematic scope is intended to promote interdisciplinary exchange between the four subject areas mentioned in its title. Its academic approach connects innovative research perspectives and critical discussions with traditional knowledge of Islam, and it aims to provide both experts and any other readers interested in this subject area with access to the findings of current research. Furthermore, the series aims to provide a forum for discussion on current issues and debates from Islam and theology as well as for reflections on theology, education, ethics and law from other academic disciplines.

‘Menschenwürde und Menschenrechte’ (Human Dignity and Human Rights) is a series of books published by the Euregio-Plattform für Menschenwürde und Menschenrechte (EUPHUR), a joint initiative founded by the Universities of Innsbruck, Bozen-Bolzano and Trento, and the Academy of Merano. The goal of EUPHUR is to examine and reflect on both basic questions of human dignity and key issues in current debates on human rights from an academic perspective in order to initiate and foster societal discourse on these subjects. The broad and diverse range of issues in this regard demands interdisciplinary cooperation between different fields, in particular law, philosophy, economics and the social sciences. Accordingly, this series of books offers a forum for works which address this subject in various forms, and which cannot only be used by established senior and junior researchers, but also publishes factually well-founded contributions from the fields of politics and journalism, to name just two. The editors welcome submissions to the series in the form of monographs, anthologies, conference proceedings and academic theses, whose publication is subject to approval by the editorial board. The works published in the series may be written in German, English or Italian.

The „Contributions to Comparative and International Public Law“ discuss topics of contemporary public international law, European Union law and comparative public law. They aim to contribute to a better understanding of the basic structures and current evolutions in international, supranational and domestic public law at a time of their growing interdependence and interaction. Future volumes in the series will deal with the extraterritorial application of the UN Covenant on Social and Economic Rights, the obligations of States and International Financial Institutions to protect social and economic rights in the Sovereign Debt Crisis and the comparative law of independent regulatory agencies.

Textbook series for students of economics at universities and colleges Academically sound and in comprehensible language, the volumes in this series introduce various topics and theories on and methods used in economics, while conveying the subject’s basic study contents. The central question the series addresses is: How can the needs of today be met in such a way that future generations will inherit an intact social, ecological and economic system? The series ‘SI Discourses | Society—Church—Religion’ brings contributions from the area at which theology and the social sciences, that is, the Church, social policy and the public sphere, overlap into academic and public discourse.
