Publisher: Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, Baden-Baden

About the Journal

Scientific and practical knowledge about political consultation and policy advice: The The Journal for Political Consulting and Policy Advice (ZPB) sees itself as the authoritative forum for the professionals, as well as a scientific journal. It offers scientific, but primarily practical, knowledge for decision-makers from politics, science, business, media and civil society. It is committed to the idea that successful consulting and the overall professionalization of the consultancy sector depend on the professional know-how at the intersection of politics, academia and consulting. Mission : Political decisions require the appropriate exchange of scientific and communicative-strategic expertise. The Journal of Political Consultation and Policy Advice wants to contribute to this exchange of knowledge and to the networking of key actors and institutions. It is the first scientific journal in this field and also the key forum for professional practice. Structure : Academic essays, practical reports, portraits of important facilities and incisive contributions in the forum, as well as short announcements, reviews and an overview of interesting events. ZPB is concerned with maintaining a high level of quality. The spectrum of ZPB is as extensive as policy advice and political communication itself and has no theoretical, empirical or methodological constraints. The journal is not confined to one discipline, but provides information on policy advice and policy management in its entire scope – in a comprehensive and at times confrontational approach. ZPB is open to all authors in the field of political consulting.

Z'Flucht. Zeitschrift für Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung

German Journal of Forced Migration and Refugee Studies
Publisher: Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, Baden-Baden

The Zeitschrift für Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung, German Journal of Forced Migration and Refugee Studies (Z’Flucht) is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes academic works from diverse disciplines on questions related to forced migration and refugee studies. The journal is published twice a year by Nomos publishing house in association with the German Network for Forced Migration Research (Netzwerk Fluchtforschung e.V.) and the editors.

Z’Flucht provides a forum for exchange in the field of forced migration and refugee studies through empirical research, theoretical reflections and methodological discussions. By means of international, regional or national explorations, scholars may address questions related to the conditions, forms and consequences of forced migration and displacement, the protection of refugees and efforts towards durable solutions, such as return, (re)integration or resettlement. Moreover, refugees’ activities and strategies to cope with their experiences may be analysed. The journal includes all categories of people who have been forcibly displaced or who have fled from their homes due to violence, and the debates, discourses, practices, politics and concepts related to them. Since such topics can be explored from diverse perspectives, the journal places special emphasis on interdisciplinary discussions and comprises various disciplines, including law, sociology, history, politics, philosophy, ethnology, psychology, geography and economics, linguistics and literary studies.

As displacement and forced migration not only represent a growing field of research but also a broad political and practical area, this journal aims to promote exchange between academia and practice.

Z’Flucht publishes works in three categories: academic articles, forum articles as well as literature reviews and conference reports.

Academic articles present research findings on specific questions related to forced migration and refugees which are methodically and theoretically reflected on, consider and further the current state of research in this field. These articles undergo a double-blind peer review and are limited to 80,000 characters (including spaces).

Forum articles may include shorter (field) research reports, address theoretical, methodological, conceptual and ethical questions or reflect on current developments and discussions in forced migration and refugee studies. Manuscripts from practitioners are welcome. The editors of the journal review all forum articles, which are limited to 35,000 characters (including spaces).

Literature reviews and conference reports can relate to individual or a number of new publications or conferences from the last two years which address aspects of forced migration and refugee studies. In view of the journal’s interdisciplinary focus, publications or conferences which cover several disciplines are preferred. Individual reviews are limited to 6,000 characters (including spaces), while multiple book reviews or conference reports should be no longer than 20,000 characters (including spaces).

The journal predominantly publishes works in German, but studies written in English and French may also be considered.
