“Southeast European Integration Perspectives” (SEIP) publishes relevant works on the political issues concerning Southeast Europe written by scholars, policy analysts, politicians, practitioners and activists, including both internationally recognised authors and emerging regional voices. SEIP both analyses and promotes ongoing processes of transition and transformation, exploring the linkages between an emergent regionalism in Southeast Europe and wider European integration. SEIP combines cutting edge policy research, interdisciplinary approaches and innovative and provocative thinking which will be of interest to a wide range of readers, including policy analysts, scholars, policy makers, diplomats, and journalists.

“Security” is a key concept today. Striving for security is regarded as the principal aim in almost all policy areas, and not only with regard to crises in international relations, internal or social security. Against this backdrop, the series of publications entitled Politiken der Sicherheit | Politics of Security examines how notions of security have developed throughout history, from the pre-modern era to the present day. It focuses particularly on addressing the question of how certain issues developed into security issues and what political effects this had and has.This German and English-speaking series is intended to promote research from the fields of social science, law and cultural studies that deals with dynamics of security, with the creation and portrayal of security in both theory and practice. As it focuses on research into historical security, this series is receptive to all critical research projects on this subject and any issues related to it (securitisation, human security etc.).Both members of the SFB/TRR 138 and interested researchers outside the SFB-TRR 138 are expressly encouraged to publish monographs, not least qualification papers, but also thematic issues and anthologies that fit the content profile of the series.

Philosophy thrives on debate, namely justified differences of opinion on assertions, views and theories. The argumentative nature of philosophy also characterises the idea behind this series of publications: it presents critical appraisals of important new studies from the field of philosophy and those related to it by renowned experts in direct discussion with their authors. A short introduction by the author opens each debate, which is then followed by the critics’ essays. Subsequently, the author responds in detail to the arguments put forward in the essays. The series is interdisciplinary and is not dedicated to any particular school of thought; the works published in it are chosen according to their originality and the relevance of their subjects.

In our times of globalisation, academic research is increasingly focusing on subjects such as migration and integration. Several thousands of people flee their home countries every day, many of whom feel forced to do so for economic reasons. Migrants and their descendants are now part and parcel of life in the countries that take them in, as many of them have settled permanently in their adopted homes. These immigrants will affect the future of these countries and also often of their countries of origin, among other things by participating in fields such as education, employment, sport and culture. The series of publications discusses all the issues relevant to research on migration and immigration and welcomes studies from all disciplines. Among other things, it is committed to publishing studies that endeavour to understand the causes and effects of migration and border demarcation better by using theoretical or empirical approaches, which are either quality or quantity-oriented. The series therefore contributes to an understanding and the promotion of the process of integration in all its possible dimensions. It considers migration and integration not only on an individual migrant level, but also from the point of view of relevant organisations and the state with its particular geographical, political, economic and cultural characteristics, a knowledge of which is necessary to be able to fully comprehend the global process of migration and integration. In this way, the series not only provides basic knowledge on migration and integration, but also offers guidance to decision makers in politics and society as well as to an interested public.

Gesundheitsforschung. Interdisziplinäre Perspektiven (G.IP) is a series edited by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André, Prof. Dr. Alexandra Manzei-Gorsky, and Prof. Dr. Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann in cooperation with the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research (ZIG) at the University of Augsburg. The aim of the G.IP series is to take the demands of interdisciplinary research seriously and to make the latest findings from health research available across disciplines. The G.IP series publishes in two lines: First, the special issues examine current health topics from an interdisciplinary perspective and are edited by a specifically composed interdisciplinary team of experts. Second, special issues on specific questions of interdisciplinary health research are published regularly. This series publishes both monographs and anthologies written in German. This publication series encompasses monographs and anthologies on the role of sea power in international relations, the evolution of naval forces and maritime strategy, and the importance of maritime security in global security. It is characterized by strong practical relevance. It addresses an international professional readership as well as the larger audience of those in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland who are interested in issues of maritime strategy and security. The series is strictly problem-oriented. Each publication marries academic quality to carefully articulated naval thought and is anchored in intellectual excellence. It is driven by the conviction that shared knowledge is empowerment.

The series Media and Religion offers a platform for innovative and creative contributions to this particular research field. It presents research projects from the fields of religion, theology, sociology, media, film and gender studies, political science, cultural studies and visual studies. Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies are particularly welcome. The series aims to publish critical analyses of the multi-layered interactions between religion and media in history and contemporary society from an empirical, theoretical, and hermeneutical perspective.

Anthologies and monographs characterised by their interdisciplinary nature and which address current subjects of interest in the field of consumer sciences are published in this series. The series is dedicated to interdisciplinary consumer research and examines the whole spectrum of issues related to consumption. It welcomes contributions from the entire gamut of academic disciplines and will appeal to all those interested in dealing with challenges relevant to consumers on an in-depth academic level. The series aims to strengthen cooperation between the different academic disciplines and to promote the transfer between academia and consumer politics and/or consumer protection agencies.
