What should we do? What should we not do? What is good conduct? What is the right thing to do? Thanks to our freedom and in our human dignity, such moral and ethical questions arise and challenge us. Ethics as a science that reflects on and examines morality strives to contribute to the clarification of these and similar questions and to offer ethical guidance. The series of publications entitled ‘Ethik – Ethics’ offers a forum for this ethical discourse. It focuses on the ethics of digital transformation and the ethics of so-called ‘artificial intelligence’ or data-based systems, on business, financial and corporate ethics as well as on the ethics of human rights. ‘Ethik – Ethics’ is characterised by the interplay of theologically ethical and philosophically ethical investigations, which can also go beyond these focal points. This series is characterised by excellent studies that identify new and innovative questions, develop approaches to address them and deal with fundamental ethical as well as specialised ethical topics.

Gesundheitsforschung. Interdisziplinäre Perspektiven (G.IP) is a series edited by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André, Prof. Dr. Alexandra Manzei-Gorsky, and Prof. Dr. Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann in cooperation with the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research (ZIG) at the University of Augsburg. The aim of the G.IP series is to take the demands of interdisciplinary research seriously and to make the latest findings from health research available across disciplines. The G.IP series publishes in two lines: First, the special issues examine current health topics from an interdisciplinary perspective and are edited by a specifically composed interdisciplinary team of experts. Second, special issues on specific questions of interdisciplinary health research are published regularly. This series publishes both monographs and anthologies written in German. This series documents research in the disciplines of sociology, history, cultural studies, political science and religious studies, as well as at the points where these disciplines overlap, which deals with societies in Central and Eastern Europe along with those in Central Asia. Since the beginning of the societal transformations at the end of the 1980s, one can observe that quite different developments have taken place in the aforementioned societies, whose fundamental characteristics lie within a very wide range of intensive modernisation and differentiation up to (new) forms of collectivistic orientation. Here, disciplinary and interdisciplinary publications, also with a critical approach, contribute to the discourse in social science on structures, actors and processes in the regions in question. The peculiarity of the series is that, in particular, authors from Eastern Europe are invited to publish work in it. Through their internal perspectives, these authors can contribute to substantially expanding expert knowledge on this subject area.

The aim of the series is to illuminate and interpret lines of development in political thought from antiquity to modernity from a systematic and historical perspective. In a systematic comparison of influential thinkers from antiquity, modern times and modernity, traditional categories of interpretation of political thought in Europe are to be researched and reflected upon. The guiding pairs of opposites are, on the one hand, the interplay of tension between principle-oriented normativity and, on the other, the centre of gravity of power, state and social order. The series sees itself as a platform for works that deal with the ethical, social, ecological and economic challenges of the 21st century from a philosophical, historical and political-theoretical/normative perspective.

Globalization is a major challenge for working people and their organizations. Globalization is intensifying competition among workers around the world, thereby undermining working conditions in many places. Adequate responses to this challenge require rigorous scholarly inquiry. The book series includes reports on the impact of globalization, particularly on vulnerable workers, their resistance, and policy options at various levels to address decent work deficits. It is a forum for outstanding dissertations as well as other outstanding monographs, postdoctoral theses, research reports, and edited volumes from the global multidisciplinary network of nine partner universities on four continents with union collaborations, the International Center for Development and Decent Work (ICDD).
