Starting since 2019, the Eleatica series gives rise to a second side project, Eleatica Supplementa. The aim of this sub-series is to publish outstanding monographs or essay collections on Eleaticism, so as to offer a further contribute to the scientific literature on the issue. While Eleatica proposes debates among leading specialists in the field, focused on the lectiones magistrales of a well-known scholar, the Supplementa present in-depth studies on specific topics written by scholars that put forward innovative or particularly relevant interpretations. The series is addressed primarily to the community of specialists in Ancient Philosophy, but also to students and more generally the cultured public interested in the origins of Western thought.

This series of publications is primarily reserved for those works which pursue new avenues of cultural studies research in the humanities and also address interdisciplinary issues. First and foremost, therefore, it places particular emphasis on studies which are able to go beyond merely taking an, at times, overly isolated view of individual subjects by dealing with cultural studies issues and by broadening horizons.

Since 2015, monographs, anthologies and conference proceedings on subjects relating to the history of knowledge from literary studies and its related disciplines have been published in the series ‘Das Unsichere Wissen der Literatur’ (The Changeable Knowledge of Literature). In addition to reflecting methodically on the relationship between literary texts and discursive contexts, the series focuses on the diverse and partly contradictory functions of literature in the production, discussion and diffusion of cultural knowledge. If knowledge is understood as a process rather than substance, the changeable knowledge of literature with its fiction, fantasies and fakes proves to be a key factor in understanding processes of knowledge production which need to be constantly reappraised.

Since it was founded 100 years ago by the musicologist Willibald Gurlitt, the music department at the University of Freiburg has studied the history of music from the early Middle Ages to the present. The volumes in the series ‘Freiburger Beiträge zur Musikwissenschaft’ (the Freiburg Contributions to Musicology), which have been published under the title Voces since 1995, are dedicated to upholding this tradition. This title refers to the tradition of medieval solmisation, which was taught and used until during the 16th century and represents a key element in understanding medieval sources of music. In this respect, the publications in the series are intended to bring to life the works they focus on through historical and music theory source criticism in tandem with intensive analytical examinations, and in this way make them more understandable for readers today.

This yearbook has been published since 1993 and is regarded as the most important institution in research into Hofmannsthal. On the one hand, it places the works of Hugo von Hofmannsthal (1874–1929) in the aesthetic and socio-historical context of modern European culture. According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , its publication of previously unpublished correspondence is one of its particular merits. On the other hand, contributions from renowned experts in literature, the fine arts, philosophy, psychology, politics, and in dance and theatre at the turn of the century are also collected in this yearbook.

For an academic discipline like German studies to make its mark, global networking is essential, especially in a country such as Australia, which due to its geostrategical location does not allow for proliferent German studies research in the same way that Europe does. ‘Limbus—The Australian Yearbook of German Literary and Cultural Studies’ is intended to take this need into account. Its goal is to further promote Australian German studies to readers with some knowledge of this field and to provide a specifically Australian forum for international discussion on this subject area. Each annual issue focuses on a particular main topic decided on by the editors, and in no way ignores the ideas and opinions of Germanists living and working outside Australia. This periodical, which was first published in 2008, regularly publishes academic essays and reviews of new academic publications from the field of German literary and cultural studies. Its editors are assisted by an academic panel consisting of experts from around the world.

The series »Ethnomusicology in the 21st century«, which was established at Goethe University in Frankfurt in 2021, includes monographs, edited volumes and conference proceedings on the fields of ethnomusicology and the anthropology of music. In light of the increasing importance of digitalisation, political debates on postcolonial and post-migrant societies, and the global health and climate crises, this series explores their consequences for music-making, discussing current issues, research approaches and paradigms.

Analysing economic phenomena from a sociological perspective poses a number of transdisciplinary challenges which are both highly topical and relevant. This means that the complementary research fields of economic sociology and political economics are among the most dynamic areas of the social sciences in both theoretical and empirical terms. Economic sociology offers analytical perspectives on the logic of economic activity and the way it is embedded into social structures, which are arranged in a continuum of market relations, networks, organisational hierarchies and other coordinating bodies. Research papers from this field therefore deal with a vast array of subjects, ranging from entrepreneurship, innovation and organisation in the workplace to monetary economics and financial markets. Political economics complements and supplements economic sociology’s focus on action by taking institutional interaction between economic and political systems into consideration and by treating the state’s involvement in the organisation of economic processes as particularly significant. In this respect, the issue of variations in capitalist market economies in the context of globalisation assumes a central role. The series of publications entitled “Wirtschaftssoziologie und Politische Ökonomie” (Economic Sociology and Political Economics) therefore provides a forum for theoretical and empirical works from these research areas with no thematic restrictions.

Gesundheitsforschung. Interdisziplinäre Perspektiven (G.IP) is a series edited by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André, Prof. Dr. Alexandra Manzei-Gorsky, and Prof. Dr. Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann in cooperation with the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research (ZIG) at the University of Augsburg. The aim of the G.IP series is to take the demands of interdisciplinary research seriously and to make the latest findings from health research available across disciplines. The G.IP series publishes in two lines: First, the special issues examine current health topics from an interdisciplinary perspective and are edited by a specifically composed interdisciplinary team of experts. Second, special issues on specific questions of interdisciplinary health research are published regularly. This series publishes both monographs and anthologies written in German. This series of publications is dedicated to the analysis of international security crises and conflicts. Through anthologies and monographs, expertise from theory and practice is combined to promote dialogue and provide an all-encompassing situation report. Accordingly, German (and European) security and defence policies are examined with regard to each area of conflict and potential solutions are developed.

This publication series encompasses monographs and anthologies on the role of sea power in international relations, the evolution of naval forces and maritime strategy, and the importance of maritime security in global security. It is characterized by strong practical relevance. It addresses an international professional readership as well as the larger audience of those in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland who are interested in issues of maritime strategy and security. The series is strictly problem-oriented. Each publication marries academic quality to carefully articulated naval thought and is anchored in intellectual excellence. It is driven by the conviction that shared knowledge is empowerment.
