”Sephardic Societies and Cultures“ is the only academic book series in Germany with an explicit Sephardic focus. It contributes to research on Iberian Jewish communities, its Western and Eastern Sephardic Diasporas, as well as Jewish and non-Jewish perspectives on and interactions with Sephardic Jews from the Middle Ages to the present. The series is aimed at researchers and students of Judaic Studies and Jewish Studies, Jewish, Christian and Islamic Theologies, Israel and Middle Eastern Studies, History, Philosophy, Literature and related subjects. Manuscripts should follow a cultural studies approach, contribute to research into the global history of Sephardic Judaism in all its diversity, reception and interconnectedness, and address current issues and discussions that are also of interdisciplinary interest. The series includes monographs, anthologies, editions as well as outstanding dissertations and post-doctoral theses.

Islamic Religious Education is a dynamic new discipline in German higher education, evolving alongside Islamic Theological Studies and the expansion of religious instruction in schools. This series bridges theory and practice by developing optimized learning processes for a pluralistic society. Closely linked to interreligious pedagogy, it intentionally embeds Islamic contexts into dialogical settings with other traditions to foster encounter, shared responsibility, and deeper interreligious reflection. We explore the full spectrum of Islamic Religious Education—from schools to community spaces. Our goal is to highlight concepts that enable collaborative learning among people of all religious and secular backgrounds, providing the theoretical and practical tools to meet today’s educational challenges. We provide a high-profile stage for cutting-edge research, including innovative dissertations and habilitation theses, monographs, edited volumes, and conference proceedings.

The series West-östliche Denkwege is not only a forum for the philosophical exchange of ideas, but also constitutes a shared effort towards the truth reached in dialogue not only with East-Asian and Western cultures, but also within the space of Europe itself, to the past and present of which a West–East structure of difference belongs. The primary aim of the series is not simply to compare thinking cultures, but to connect them together in order to make them fruitful for the purposes of a common effort. In dealing with the fundamental topics of theoretical and practical philosophy, political thinking and bioethics, the series aims to encourage a lively discourse between East and West by disclosing a wealth of different traditions.

The Collegium Politicum is an international research network focusing on Ancient Political Theory and its reception in the history of political thought. Founded by Francisco L. Lisi in 2000, the network organizes annual meetings of its members who mostly teach at European Universities from several different countries. There are a wide range of activities and cooperation among the members such as joint workshops, international conferences, joint publications, and exchanges of faculty and graduate or doctoral students as well as post-doctoral researchers. Our book series is not only open for publications of our members and annual meetings, but to all innovative and high-quality contributions on Classical Political Thought and its reception. We welcome contributions from both accomplished scholars and young researchers at the beginning of their career. The latter includes outstanding Ph.D.-theses and “Habilitationsschriften”. Proposals submitted to the editors are subjected to a double-blind peer review and need to be accepted by the editorial board.

The International Socrates Studies series publishes book-length monographs and collective volumes dealing with the figure and thought of Socrates, his historical context, and the sources of evidence concerning him. Specifically, the series welcomes manuscripts related to reactions to Socrates, positive and negative, the first generation of the Socratic movement, and the history of the reception of Socrates from Antiquity to the present Age.
