Civil society has gained importance in the social sciences. Civil society organisations are active in numerous policy fields. They engage in advocacy as well as service delivery. Members, volunteers, philanthropists and sponsors are important stakeholders of civil society organisations. The series provides an interdisciplinary forum for discussing the theory and practice of civil society. The editors invite contributions from the various disciplines of the social sciences, especially business and economics, history, political science, sociology and law. The series is comparative in nature and covers a wide range of topics from civic engagement, volunteering, protest movements and corporate citizenship to public-private partnerships between state, market and civil society.

The series "Studies in Political Theory" presents a wide range of new and original work in contemporary Political Theory with no restriction as to approach or subject matter. It is broad in scope, including contributions to Political Philosophy, the History of Ideas or studies in applied theory. The series provides comprehensive and critical coverage of the different fields of modern political theory - such as democratic theory, institutional theory, critical theory, political justice and ethics. Its contributions examine Political Theory"s edges as well as its core and will help set the agenda for years to come. The “Studies in Political Theory” series sheds light on conceptual and topical controversies reflecting the pluralism of contemporary Political Theory. The series is edited on behalf of the research committee on "Political Theory and the History of Ideas" of the German Political Science Association.

The Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) is a project of four partners from two continents: The Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law, the University of Augsburg, the Technische Universität München and the George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C. Apart from an LL.M. program in intellectual property law taught by faculty from all over the world, MIPLC is also devoted to research in all areas of intellectual property, including adjacent areas of economics and science. Together with its partner organisations worldwide, MIPLC also organizes conferences on topical intellectual property issues. In its MIPLC Studies, the best research results of the Center and proceedings of conferences organized by the Center will be published. The series will cover a wide variety of subjects of interest for academic researchers, as well as for practitioners, including policy makers interested in intellectual property and adjacent fields. They will benefit from the output of research performed by researchers from all over the world who study and work at the Center.

The series "Transformation, Development, and Regionalization in Greater Asia" reflects Asia's increasing relevance and importance for International and Foreign Policy Studies today. Asia's experiences with transforming political systems, development processes, and regional cooperation demand special attention. Asia, which is made up of nation states and related subregional and regional actors, constitutes a subject for studies in social sciences, economy, law and history. In particular, Asia provides interesting experiences and models for political, economic, and socio-cultural processes – including progress, stagnation, and regression – and thus enriches the theoretical debate. In addition to Asian studies and intra-Asian regionalization studies, this book series covers both the relations between Greater Asia and Europe and Asia's role in the international system and participation in Global Governance. This series aims at stimulating further interdisciplinary research on Greater Asia and will encourage cooperation between Asian and European scholars.
