Gesundheitsforschung. Interdisziplinäre Perspektiven (G.IP) is a series edited by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André, Prof. Dr. Alexandra Manzei-Gorsky, and Prof. Dr. Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann in cooperation with the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research (ZIG) at the University of Augsburg. The aim of the G.IP series is to take the demands of interdisciplinary research seriously and to make the latest findings from health research available across disciplines. The G.IP series publishes in two lines: First, the special issues examine current health topics from an interdisciplinary perspective and are edited by a specifically composed interdisciplinary team of experts. Second, special issues on specific questions of interdisciplinary health research are published regularly. This series publishes both monographs and anthologies written in German. Cover of book: Transformation of Higher Education in Turkey
Series
Publisher: Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, Baden-Baden
The series will deal with the socio-political development and transformation processes of Turkish society in the 20th and 21st century. The process of modernization, initiated from above, in the late Ottoman phase, has brought about the movement of entire social fields and actors and continues in conflict-laden processes in the neoliberal age until today. The series would like to take a closer look at the developmental paths, the course forms and the contradictions of this modernization process in political, social and cultural terms. To achieve this goal, it is planned to use different methodological and theoretical perspectives. The series is open in this respect for various scientific accesses to these subject areas. A special focus is the analysis of the current transformation processes, which have taken place in neo-liberal traits in Turkey since the 1980s and produce overall social effects.

During the course of European integration, which is based on cooperation between autonomous states, regions have gradually become more important and have intensified their collaborative work with regions beyond the EU’s borders. However, European integration and regionalism, which includes cross-border cooperation between regions, are governed by different dynamics that are related to centralisation and decentralisation, which generates a certain amount of tension. This means that pursuing both paths (at the same time) throws up a whole host of questions, some of which are extremely complex. This collection of publications is the result of collaborative academic work between the Universities of Innsbruck, Bolzano and Trento as well as the EURAC Research Centre in Bolzano under the direction of the Research Centre on Federalism at the University of Innsbruck. It aims to publish the latest research studies on the role of regions in Europe.
