In this article, Nina Brandau and Sigrid Hartong focus on the performative power of graphic user interfaces on learning management systems (LMS) and conceptualize those as graphic data visualizations (GDV). More specifically, empirical results from a critical co-design process with four schools are presented, which show, among other things, that the focus on details in GDV can support the critical engagement with the impact of LMS on school values and norms.
