Preview:

Nonwoven abrasive waste contains polymers and abrasive grains in a hard-to-separate bond, considered difficult to recycle. Based on a prior publication, a novel hot-pressing process is demonstrated converting both fractions into functional grinding wheels without separation. With 15 % fresh phenolic resin binder, it achieves properties close to conventional products, in spite of shorter and more energy-efficient manufacturing. This article also provides an energy analysis of the grinding process.
