« Réflexion sur l’encadrement juridique de la participation des jeunes à la gouvernance locale au Niger »

In Niger, youth participation in political life is generally addressed at the national level. There are few specific studies on their involvement in local governance, despite their significant demographic weight. This contribution therefore aims to understand the legal framework governing youth participation in local public affairs in Niger. The analysis shows that youth participation in local governance in Niger has two facets: First, participation is theoretical, in the sense that there is a plethora of texts both internally and externally. Second, participation is ineffective, insofar as young people struggle to be involved in the management of local public affairs.
