Hairpin technology, commonly used in the production of electric traction motors, has significant efficiency drawbacks at high rotational speeds due to skin and proximity effects. The „KontaktE“ collaborative research project investigates and optimizes the laser contacting process for innovative winding topologies and conductor technologies. This study presents the results of an experimental design that identifies an ideal parameter window for producing quadruple welds.
