Preview:

High volatility requires flexible production systems. The ‘AutoPilot’ project developed a circular production cell concept combining physical modularity (e.g., wood veneer composites) with digital twins. Validation confirms increased adaptability and a reduced carbon footprint. Furthermore, data-integrated equipment-as-a-service lowers costs and promotes component reuse. This paper presents the technical implementation and associated operator models.
