Preview:

Currently, the production of lithium-ion battery cells is subject to high levels of scrap across almost the entire process chain. A reduction in production scrap reduces both the consumption of resources and costs, and increases the productivity of the entire production process. Using the calendering process as an example, the paper shows how DEM simulations and sensor integration can be used to defect and reduce detect patterns in brownfield and new plants.
