The article deals with the shifting processes of remembering the Holocaust on social media. The research question is: How is the use of photography in the digital world changing, especially after the events of October 7, 2023, the attack on Israel by the terrorist organization Hamas? In a close-reading procedure based on the Grounded Theory, posts that employ the medium of photography as a narrative element are analyzed. The ethical appeal Never Again!, formulated by Holocaust survivors after the end of the Second World War, can be updated with the help of photography and the use of media-specific components such as likes, hashtags or re-posts.
