Zukunftsthemen heute gestalten – BBB-Memorandum/Shaping the future today – BBB-Memorandum

In order to be able to meet the current requirements for climate protection as well as the existing and future possibilities of digitalization and the resulting change in the construction industry, this article reflects on developments in research and teaching in the “Baubetrieb, Bauwirtschaft und Baumanagement” (BBB) network (Construction Management and Economics Network of the D-A-CH universities). With regard to research, it becomes clear that „translational research“ is to be seen as an essential characteristic of the BBB professorships. The expansion of general knowledge acquired in this way leads to specialization in teaching and, as a result, to more content in the education curriculum. In addition, the members of the BBB network continue to specialize further and cover an ever-increasing range of construction, real estate and infrastructure-specific content in depth. This also enables the BBB professorships to make a fundamental contribution to the overarching Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
