In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat die Patientenorientierung an Bedeutung gewonnen und gilt als zentraler Aspekt qualitativ hochwertiger Gesundheitsversorgung. Dieser Artikel beleuchtet das Konzept der Patientenorientierung. Durch die Vorstellung von Instrumenten zur Messung der Patientenperspektive und verschiedenen Implementierungsansätzen wird aufgezeigt, wie Patientinnen und Patienten aktiv in Entscheidungsprozesse einbezogen werden können. Zudem werden die Herausforderungen der praktischen Umsetzung thematisiert. Ziel ist es, Lösungsansätze zu vorzustellen, die Patientenorientierung in Forschung und Praxis stärken können.
